Coos Bay/North Bend are side by side cities situated at the mouth of the Coos River on Oregon’s beautiful southern coast. Both cities date back to an era when steamboats ferried passengers and goods to points north and south along the Pacific Coast. Coos Bay was established in 1874, and North Bend in 1910. The bay known as “Coos Bay” is ten miles long. It is the largest and deepest port between San Francisco and the Columbia River. Outdoor recreation, stunning scenery and a true country lifestyle abound here. Coos Bay/North bend is in close proximity to Bandon Dunes Golf Course, the Oregon Dunes National Recreation area, and spectacular beaches. |
